This is a signature item in a Chinese restaurant. This restaurant is called " YANK SING". This dumpling is called "SHANG HAI DUMPLING', and its name was from a big city , Shang Hai , in China. It was originally famous from there. Since so many immigrants moved to the U.S, so they brought Chinese culture here and they tried to make it follow the America culture and make it accept by the local people.
If you want to try it , you can to S. F financial distinct, which is located on 101 Spear St. It is inside a tall building, " Recon Center". If you come here for lunch , I recommend this item. Although I took this picture without a perfect situation, I guarantee it will taste better than it looks. When you order it, it will automatically come with red vinegar and ginger, and it also serves with soup spoon. You need to be careful when you eat this dumpling, because it has some soup inside the dumpling, you have better to eat it with spoon . If you confuse about how to eat, you tell the sever that this is your first time, and the sever will show you how to eat. Otherwise you can't catch the soup from the dumpling.
So it is better to eat it step by step. First, use a pair of chopstick to pick it up and put it in a soup spoon, second, put tea spoon of red on the dumpling, and then put a little bit ginger on the top, but remember not to eat the whole one into your mouth, it is very hot in temperature . it will burn your mouth. This is my favorite dumpling that I ate Shang Hai dumpling several time. I really like it, but in the first time, the soup inside the dumpling already burn my mouth.
