I Am Proud Of My Daughter

Maggie is a wonderful girl.  She has been in the U.S. for five years, and in that time she has done
many things.  She was a salesperson at Lucky and Payless.  She was a tutor in statistics at City College, and received the
John Yehall Chin Memorial Scholarship for her academic excellence, community service, and educational leadership.  She was also president of the International Students Association at City College.  Maggie was accepted at UCLA last year; she is currently majoring in Economics and Japanese.  She makes time to be with her parents, and they often take trips together on weekends.  She also has a strong network of friends.  Maggie has given me great joy as a daughter.

Maggie came to San Francisco in 2007.  At first, she was attending City College and working at Lucky.  She was a hard worker who woke up at 5:30 a.m. to take the bus to Lucky.  Her great dream was to go to UCLA, and she worked hard to achieve her goal.  At this time, Maggie was a math tutor at City College, where she gave patient help to students.  One day she told me that she needed to help a young boy with a math problem at Starbucks.  She also had to study for her final exams, but she found time to help the boy for two hours.  Maggie enjoys helping people.  She volunteered to help ESL students at City College, and also helped children at the Asian Art Museum.  Maggie studied hard and worked hard.

Maggie has been at UCLA since 2010, and is very exceited to be a student at a top university.  Last year she had an internship at an insurance company.  Last term she volunteered at a real estate concern, where she learned to handle finances and serve customers.  Maggie also planned and organized the Chinese Spring Festival party at UCLA with her classmates.

Maggie likes to dance and sing at kaoroke with her friends.  Several years ago she went to Hong Kong to see a performance by a popular Japanese musical group called W-inds.  She also enjoys snow sports and has a good relationship with her friends.

Maggie is a great girl and a good student.  She is very good with people. Next month we will attend her graduation from UCLA.  We are very proud of her, and we expect great things from her in the future.

I am working ESL140, and I have completed 30 units of Child Development Course. One day, when I  finish ESL170, I  will get AA Degree.  I will be seccessful !!!
